English Premier League: Predictions - Week 11 (Part 1)
Weekend is upon us and Bettor.com has compiled a list of matches and predicted their results. Here are the predictions for this weekend:
Bolton Wanderers vs. Tottenham Hotspur:
The week has been all about Gareth Bale and his stunning display on the magical night at White Hart Lane. However, this weekend they travel to Bolton, who might consider themselves a touch unlucky to pick nothing from their last week game against Liverpool.
The danger for Bolton is pretty obvious in the shape of Bale. Owen Coyle will be aware of that and he has to make sure he sticks up a player on the right who gets stuck in and makes it really tough for Bale.
Martin Petrov will again be sidelined due to his hamstring injury. There are injury worries for Spurs as well. Star man Rafael van der Vaart will miss the game and Aaron Lennon will face a late fitness test.
Tottenham have been playing some lovely football of late, and Luka Modric will be the key man for them. If Bolton can put a performance similar to last week, then they stand every chance to take something of the tired spurs' team.
Prediction: 1-1
Birmingham City vs. West Ham United:
Birmingham thoroughly deserved the point at Villa Park last week. It was another typical Birmingham performance. However, last week’s hero Roger Johnson will face a late fitness test. Birmingham have been in decent form of late, especially at home.
They beat the high flying Blackpool at St. Andrews last time out and with West Ham struggling for ideas and losing faith in their ability; it seems a reasonably comfortable outing for Birmingham City.
West Ham surprised Arsenal by their resolute display last week and can take a lot of courage and confidence from that performance. Both teams look better at the back than going forward.
Bettor.com believes that this game will be decided by a solitary goal and it will be the home side nicking it by the slightest of margins.
Prediction: 1-0
Blackburn Rovers vs. Wigan Athletic:
It’s difficult to predict a game where Wigan is involved. It’s nearly impossible to predict which Wigan is to show up on the day.
Blackburn, on the other hand, have not made the best of starts. They have looked good at times but they need to start getting results and this match gives them a good chance to go at Wigan and take all three points. Last time against Chelsea, they showed
that they can deal with the big guns but Wigan is a tricky opposition for them.
Wigan will be relying on the form of Charles N’Zogbia, one player who can inspire Wigan to all three points. He has to be in top form if Wigan are hopeful of taking something from the game.
However, as we have said already that this is a tricky one and the general feeling is that after a disappointing away performance from Wigan last week, it may change this time around.
Prediction: 1-1
Blackpool vs. Everton:
Along with West Brom, Blackpool is the other newly promoted team who has impressed everyone. On Monday night, they met their last year’s championship rivals West Brom and overcame them by 2 goals to 1, but only after they were reduced to 9 men.
Everton will pose a different problem for Ian Holloways’ men. They are now through their usual poor start to the season and are playing some good football. Yakubu seems to be back to his best.
Osman and Fellaini will continue to be sidelined for Everton. Blackpool have no serious injury worries. However, they should be worried about the form of their opposition, who are now unbeaten in their last 5 and have won 3 of their last 4 matches.
Everton will go into this match full of confidence and a win will create a gap between themselves and the following pack. Expect an away win.
Prediction: 1-2
