After watching his side record a goalless stalemate in his first game in-charge, Harry Redknapp would be keen to bag all three points against the struggling Villans on Saturday.
On matchday 15 of the English top flight football, Queens Park Rangers will lock horns against Loftus Road Stadium on Saturday, December 1.
Queens Park Rangers
The White City outfit recorded a hard fought goalless draw in their midweek’s Premier League game against Sunderland at Stadium of Light on November 27. In a game where chances were few and far between, the visiting side dominated proceedings on the pitch
throughout the 90 minutes. However, they had to settle for a stalemate at the end of the game.
QPR are currently sitting at the bottom of the league table, a mammoth eight points adrift from the safety zone. They have thus far struggled to perform at home, and their showings on the road have also remained unimpressive. They have an overall record
of 14 played, 5 drawn and 9 lost.
Harry Redknapp, the newly appointed QPR head coach, has urged his troops to replicate their midweek’s performance in their upcoming home game, and enhance their chances of securing all three points at the end.
“I was pleased the other night, I thought we played well. The work-rate was great and we played some good football and I couldn’t have been more pleased with them. We’ve got to carry that on tomorrow. If we can give the fans something to cheer with a real
workman-like performance, with plenty of effort and play our football, we’ve got a chance”, the former Tottenham boss said while talking to journalists in the pre-match press conference.
Aston Villa
The Villans are heading into the game on the back of a well deserved 1-0 victory over Reading at Villa Park on November 27. Both sides enjoyed plenty of goalscoring opportunities, but neither of the two managed to break the deadlock until the 80th
minute, when Christian Benteke found the back of the net.
Sitting at the 17th spot in the league standings, Villa have thus far staged erratic shows both at home and on the road, and only a point separates them from the relegation threatened, Southampton. They have an overall record of 14 played, 3 won,
4 drawn and 7 lost.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert, the Villans head coach, has revealed that every player is gunning to bag maximum points in the upcoming game against QPR following their victory over Reading on Tuesday.
“We go into the game with plenty of optimism, but it will be a different game to the Reading match. Everyone knows how good a manager Harry is and he can really get the players going, but we go down there with plenty of confidence which is great”, Lambert
was quoted as saying to the media.
Head-to-Head statistics
Villa have managed to win two of their last five encounters against QPR, while the White City outfit has managed to claim a victory only once. The remaining two games ended in stalemates.
