In the 66th minute, Chelsea were on the back foot as Arsenal rushed forward after taking their free kick. The Gunners did well to sustain a good period of possession as Chelsea were made to do all the running. In the
67th minute of the match, Fabregas became the first Arsenal player to go into the book, as referee Mark Clattenburg showed the Spanish midfielder a yellow card for his tug on Michael Essien. The free kick was taken by Drogba, but Arsenal defended
resolutely to deny Chelsea any in roads towards their goal.

the pass was misplaced as Chelsea regained possession of the ball.
In the 71st minute, Arsenal were on the attack yet again as this time Fabregas carried the ball forward. The Spanish World Cup winner was stopped in his tracks as Essien brought him down near the touchline. In the 73rd minute,
