English Premier League: Stoke keen to hold onto Tuncay as Sunderland bid for Ricardo Fuller

Tony Pulis has confirmed that there have been two bids for two of Stoke’s strikers, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-Fuller-c30989 and Tuncay Sanli.
Both the strikers have not been given many first team starts this season and thus it might be possible that Stoke will sell them to the highest bidders on the last day of the January transfer window.
Stoke captured http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-Zaragoza-c40344 as well so first team opportunities for some of their squad players have been limited to say the least.
Ricardo Fuller has been a target of a bid from Sunderland F.C after the Black Cats parted ways with their clinical striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358. Bent sealed a huge 24 million pound move to Aston Villa in the winter transfer window and
thus Sunderland are on the lookout for his replacement.
However, the Tyneside club has only got a time period of 24 hours to work the move through as the clubs are still in negotiation mode before the transfer window deadline hits.
On the other hand, Wolfsburg have been active in the winter transfer window as well. The German club sold their star striker, Edin Dzeko to Manchester City earlier on in the month but now they are looking to spend some of the 26
million pound transfer fee that they gathered from the English club.
Wolfsburg are favorites to sign the skillful http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tuncay-Sanli-c35618 from Stoke City as a replacement for Dzeko who scored for Manchester City on the weekend against Notts County in their fifth round F.A Cup tie.
Stoke’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Pulis, spoke about the transfer clout surrounding Fuller and Tuncay respectively after his side sealed their place in the fifth round of the F.A Cup following a crucial win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in
the fourth round of the competition.
Pulis stated in his post match interview, "The club has received a bid from Wolfsburg and the clubs are talking but we are keen to keep Tuncay if we can. Sunderland also definitely made a bid for Ricardo. Not good enough? I'm not
saying that. I'm just saying Sunderland made a bid and the clubs are talking".
Pulis further confirmed that Stoke were ready to discuss a new contract deal with the experienced shot stopper, Thomas Sorensen. Stoke City’s goalkeeper recently lost his first team place to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Asmir-Begovic-c6841 but Pulis is ready to
give Sorensen another chance to regain his top spot from Asmir.
The contract talks between http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Sørensen-c34994 and Stoke City’s representatives have already begun and are expected to be completed by the end of February, 2011.
