English Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur tell Inter Milan to back off
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Gareth Bale will not be sold by the London club at any cost in the current transfer window. The ex-West Ham manager’s comments were directed towards http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, who
were reportedly preparing a massive bid to lure the Welsh winger away from the White Hart Lane. Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have also been interested in Bale’s services, but Tottenham have adopted a very strict policy as far as their youthful winger is concerned.
Media reports, on Thursday, suggested that Inter had prepared a bid of almost 40 million pounds for the winger, who terrorized their defence earlier on in the year. Bale played twice against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions’ League
group stages and netted a hat trick at San Siro in the first of the two encounters. Tottenham have now sealed their progression to the round of 16 and they are scheduled to face Inter Milan’s archrivals, AC Milan.
Tottenham bought http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 from Southampton in 2007 after they fended off interest from Manchester United. The original transfer fee for the ex-Southampton man was around five million pounds. However, since arriving at Tottenham,
Bale has blossomed into a world-class winger with tremendous ability to surprise in the future, as he is still maturing as a footballer.
Spurs made their intentions clear through Harry Redknapp, as the Englishman stated, "We won't be selling Gareth Bale in the summer, it's up to the chairman but I'd be very surprised if we were interested in selling him at any price.
You have special players in your team and if we're going to be a top team you've got to keep your top players, you can't be selling Gareth Bale.”
Tottenham’s manager praised Bale further by saying, "You've got three or four players who can make a difference and he's one of those players. And, if you lose him, you can't replace him. Where are you going to replace him? You
go and get one from here, one from there, another one. When he gets the ball something happens, he can do something that no-one else can do. We can't afford to lose him."
Spurs will be relying on Bale to keep up his form to finish above the fifth place spot in the English Premier League rankings. A fourth place finish is deemed as a necessary one for Tottenham, if they are to participate in the
next edition of the UEFA Champions League.
