Tottenham Hotspurs’ boss Harry Redknapp has rated Rafael van der Vaart’s chances of returning as 50-50, the Dutch international is suffering from an ankle injury and it is still uncertain if he will return to face Liverpool today.
Jermaine Jenas is set to undergo a scan on the calf injury he picked up against Werder Bremen in the Champions League fixture during midweek. He could feature today, along with Michael Dawson who is back in training after a ligament damage.
Giovani dos Santos is out with a groin injury but could return as soon as next week, while Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate are long term absentees with groin injuries. Jamie O’Hara is suffering from a back problem and will be sidelined for a few weeks.
Captain Steven Gerrard will miss this fixture, while former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole is set to return today. The England international missed five games because of a hamstring injury, however, he seems to have recovered and will most likely feature on
the bench against Tottenham.
