English Premier League Transfer Rumours: David Silva to reject Manchester City offer
Manchester City was more than certain of luring the midfield maestro David Silva who currently plays for ‘Valencia’ in a deal worth approximately twenty-eight million pounds. However, the player is reported to have said that he would rather prefer ‘Stamford Bridge’ instead.
Silva’s agent has confirmed these rumours by saying that there are offers from three clubs, including Chelsea, but it’s up to Silva to decide where he wants to go.
However Manchester City has been allowed to maintain contact with the Spanish international, so this deal is far from over.
Joe Cole’s future has been mired into mystery once again. It was earlier reported that Manchester United had nearly completed his capture. It now appears that Sir Alex Ferguson has been put off by the star player’s wage demands of a hundred thousand pounds a week. His constant struggle to maintain his form and fitness were reportedly one of the reasons why this deal has broken down.
Manchester United is all set to go toe-to-toe with Tottenham for the transfer of Mexican super-sub Pablo Barrera. Barrera’s demand in the market has gone up ever since his outstanding performance against France in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Lazio has already rejected a three million pound bid for the player.
Tottenham have dropped their eight million pound evaluation for their veteran striker Robbie Keane in hopes to offload him during the summer transfer window. Aston Villa and Birmingham City have both shown interest in the Irish striker. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspurs boss has Uruguay’s ace Luiz Surez lined-up as his replacement.
Bolton Wanderers are close to landing the Real Madrid duo Marcos Alonso and Rodrido Moreno in a deal worth approximately five million pounds. If the deal goes through, Benfica will be more than disappointed, who were planning on including the two players in a massive swap deal for Argentinean winger Angel di Maria.
Arsene Wenger has increased his initial offer for Fulham shot stopper Mark Schwarzer to three and a half million pounds. He is hoping that this fee will be more than enough to complete the goal-keepers move from Fulham to Arsenal.
Celtic have shown signs of interest in Newcastle keeper Steve Harper and with Newcastle looking to sell their players in order to generate funds, this move is looking more than likely.
Sam Allardyce, who is in-charge at Blackburn, will be more than disappointed, since his attempt to lure Real Madrid midfielder Guti might have failed. The midfielder has shown more interest to join Zenit St Petersburg.
Meanwhile, the Wolves are planning on launching a bid for Ivorian forward Aruna Dindane.
