English Premier League: Where should the top flight teams end their respective seasons (Part 2)
16) Birmingham City
After a great last season and new signings this summer, most people expected Birmingham to put on a great show in this season but it seems now that they are focusing more on beating their arch rivals rather than concentrating on their league position. Their
rivals, Aston Villa have been shadowing Birmingham for many seasons but it’s good news for the Birmingham fans that Villa have so far struggled this season and they expect to finish the season at least above their bitter rivals.
15) Aston Villa
Villa have seen a bad season so far after they finished last three seasons at 6th place without making any sizeable progress. Now, they are in even murkier depths and if this downward trend keeps going on, they might end up being a championship
side. But on the other hand, on the basis of their last 3 seasons, Villa just have to fight for a European berth by any means to make this current season look like a ‘not bad at all’ season. Just qualifying for Europe will make the Villa fans happy and even
save http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Houllier’s job in the process.
14) Everton
Perhaps, Everton is the most unlucky side in the Premier League in terms of league position. 14th is definitely not the position that Everton deserve. They put on great performances but somehow, are lying below the likes of Blackburn, Stoke and
Sunderland. David Moyes doesn’t have a lot of funds at his disposal like his club’s arch rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 has but he has still managed to make a good squad out of what he has and it is for sure that traditionally slow starters, Everton will push for European
qualification. The talent on the squad means that they might get a European berth.
13) Stoke City
Being in 13th place isn’t such a bad position for Stoke. Even though, the Potteries are very formidable and daunting at home, they are still a mid-table team and are having a pretty decent season under http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Pulis.
This is their only 3rd season in the top flight but a 12th and 11th place finish in the last two seasons means that they will be thinking of improving on this record and finish the season as 10th in the league.
This would be enough to satisfy the Stoke fans.
12) Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385
After sacking Sam Allardyce, new owners Venky Group meant business and seem to be very serious when they talk about Blackburn playing attractive football in the future, something that was never seen during Big Sam’s tenure at Ewood Park. Blackburn is the
only side that has won the Premier League apart from Manchester United, Arsenal and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 but have now become a mid-table side. This season will see the Rovers finish the season at the middle of the table which will be a great platform for the new owners
to build the team on. The Rovers are in no trouble of becoming extinct in the Premier League but neither are they expected to do something big in the recent future. Stability and consistency just might take the club forward for starters.
11) West Bromwich Albion
West Brom is in 11th place and has had a great comeback season in the topflight. They have played great football under the management of Roberto Di Matteo and the Italian has really introduced a great football philosophy that is being admired
by everyone. Beating Arsenal and then holding Manchester United to a draw at Old Trafford didn’t hurt them either. They have a great chance of surviving this season and if they do, which they should anyway, West Brom can then build on this season and take
the side to the next level. 10th place or even above is up for grabs and they should take it.
