English Premier League roundup, Arsenal gear up for Stoke City
Highly rated teenage sensation, Aaron Ramsey, has greatly impressed Nottingham Forest. He is currently on a loan to Nottingham Forest and the side is looking to extend his stay with them.
He joined the Nottingham camp on a short loan from 25th December till the start of New Year. Ramsey missed out nine months of football after he suffered a broken leg and Arsenal are desperate to have him fully fit for the Premier League.
The player has not managed to play more than 30 minutes with the Championship side, owing to bad weather conditions, which has led to the cancellation of two of the sides matches in the league.
Ramsey can now feature in only five more fixtures till the end of the loan term and the Championship side looks to extend the loan term. Nottingham Forest’s coach, Billy Davies stated, "When we get closer to the time, we will look at that option and the possibility of trying to extend his loan. That would be nice because he is an exceptional talent. You can see that in how he handles himself. He would be a superb player for Forest to have (for longer) but the most important thing is to enjoy the period we have with him and once we get closer to January, we will look at it again. He has been a pleasure over the last fortnight. He has settled in very well and is itching to play”.
Arsenal recently lost to the current table leaders, Manchester United. They would want to regain the pole position in the Premier League, when they face Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium. The side is currently two points behind Manchester United, who top the table but face Chelsea, this weekend at Stamford Bridge.
Any points dropped here would mean Arsenal would again be at the top. Arsene Wenger was unable to find the weakness in Manchester United’s overly crowded midfield and it was J.S. Park’s, single looping header, which gave the win to the Red Devils. Park has now scored in all four starts against Arsenal and is considered to be a big match player, owing to his goal scoring form against Europe’s biggest sides.
