English Premier League title race intensifies
Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Laurent-Koscielny-c21742 worried about Manchester United
Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny said he believed that there were only two title contenders at this point in the season, the Gunners and Manchester United. Both sides secured wins in the English Premier League fixtures during midweek
as the title race intensifies. Even though defending champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 also won against Sunderland, they are far too down the table, at fourth place, for Arsenal to worry about them. Third place Manchester City, on the other hand, stumbled against Birmingham,
giving Arsene Wenger’s side a chance to extend their lead to three points.
The French defender said he expected the top two sides to battle it out for the Premier League crown, despite Manchester United at the top of the table with a safe five-point lead. Wenger’s side have recently not been too convincing, they
registered a close win over Everton in a controversial match. With increasing injury problems, Wenger did not bring in any reinforcements during the January transfer window, which means they will have to do with what they have.
However, Koscielny was hopeful. Speaking to reporters, he said, “It looks like we are the last challengers to United. We have got more points than Manchester City, Chelsea and the others. We need to focus on our game, keep winning, picking
up points and maybe United will lose games at some point. Anything can happen in this league.”
The defender admitted that the Gunners had to remain consistent if they wished to remain in the title race. He insisted his side had to maintain a solid defense, especially in the upcoming fixtures. He continued, “If we don't concede,
we will always make chances to score ourselves. It's going to be a big battle between us and Manchester United and, hopefully, they will drop points, not us. It's not going to be easy. But we have faith in ourselves and in the squad.”

during the January transfer window. Over their past few matches, Chelsea have transformed into the same side that captured the double last season. In their last fixture, Chelsea beat Sunderland 4-2 at the Stadium of Light, a fixture in which the new additions
did not feature. Rooney told reporters, “We certainly haven't written Chelsea off. They are a big strong side and we know if anyone is capable of going on a good run then it is them. But we know it is up to us where the title goes and hopefully we can win
it back.”
