English Premier League: Prediction for the upcoming games (Part 2)
Arsenal vs. Bolton Wanderers
Arsenal is off to a flying start, securing two wins in their three fixtures of the new season. With 7 points on the board, the team currently sits on the number two spot, levelled in terms of points with Manchester United. Youngster Theo Walcott has been the player to watch this season, scoring 4 goals in three matches so far. The player scored three goals against Blackpool, while scoring another goal against Blackburn last weekend.
Bolton is also off to one of their best starts, securing 5 points from a possible 9 in their opening three fixtures. The team thrashed West Ham United 3-1 on the away leg, while drawing against Fulham and Birmingham. The team now travel to North London, where they face Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium. The match is important for these two teams, who are aiming to prove a point. Arsenal managed a narrow 1-0 victory last season and would be hoping for a more comfortable outcome this time round. With Robin Van Persie injured for this fixture, Arsenal would have to rely on the services on the newly signed Chamakh to find goals. Theo Walcott would also be looking to increase his goal tally this season as he has a point to prove.
Bolton on the other hand would be looking to get another win. The side has immense quality at their expense. With players like Gary Cahill, Martin Petrov and Lee Chung Young in the side, Bolton will pose a huge threat to Arsenal in the fixture. However, Arsenal is likely to defeat the resilient Wanderers with a narrow one goal margin yet again. The side has shown much improvement from last season and are title contenders for the Premier league crown yet again.
Fulham vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers
Roy Hodgson took this low lying premier league side into the Europa league final last season, only to be denied European glory by eventual Champions Atletico Madrid. Hodgson has however left the club to offer his services to Liverpool and former Manchester City manager Mark Hughes taking the reins of the club. The manager since then has only managed to draw the opening three fixtures, something that is not desirable by any standard. With City, Hughes managed 7 straight draws and was sacked due to this reason. The side would now be looking to register their first premier league win against the Wolves. The team hosts the Wolves at Craven Cottage, where Fulham are known to be the strongest.
Wolves were on the verge of relegation last season and thus made a bright start to the new season. The side defeated Stoke City 2-1 in the opening fixture while drawing against Everton and Newcastle United. The team currently has 5 points from a possible 9 and would be extremely happy with their performance. They now travel to Craven Cottage where Fulham would be aiming for their first win. Mark Hughes would be without Bobby Zamora, who is sidelined due to injury. The new manager is yet to find the right mix for his team and is struggling to find the right tactics. Hodgson has managed to set a high bar for Hughes to meet and would be looking to win his first match with his new team.
It is expected that Fulham would finally be able to secure their first win of the new season. Fulham have defeated some European heavy weights, including Juventus, at Craven Cottage and would be looking to feed from the energy of the home crowd. A comfortable 2 or 3-0 in can be expected from the Cottagers as they to look to finish better than they did last season.
