English Premier league Statistics
There are some exciting statistics in the premier league as the season goes into its 8th week. There were some pretty interesting results in the league and the table seems wide open for anyone to pounce on.
Lets have a look at some interesting premier league stats for this week:
Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone has scored 7 goals in his career at White Hart Lane, of which three have come against Fulham.
Low lying club West Bromwich Albion have not lost a single away match for the past 5 premier league games, which is also their longest unbeaten run in the top division. Also, it is their best streak in the top flight since Oct 1983.
Ironically, Birmingham City, who managed to maintain a yearlong undefeated streak at St Andrews, has scored 6 out of 8 goals away from home. Their 12 month long undefeated home run was finally ended by Everton in the 7th week of the premier league.
17th place team Wolverhampton Wanderers have not registered a single win their last 7 premier league fixtures. It doesn’t look good for the Wolves as they play current top four next, with Chelsea, Man City, Man United and Arsenal. That is bad
news for a side and loosing all the upcoming fixtures can increase their chances of battling relegation.
Tottenham Hotspurs was finally able to register their first ever win at Craven Cottage in nearly 8 years. The side defeated Fulham 2-1 this week, which is their first premier league win in 9 attempts.
West Ham United have a disappointing away record, as the side has not managed a single away win for the past 22 Premier league events. The side is currently battling relegation and even with Avram Grant as the boss, the side seems to be hopeless.
An impressive record for Man City striker Carlos Tevez, as the player has scored 28 goals in 31 premier league appearances. The player’s brace against Blackpool this weekend has made him the highest scoring South American footballer in premier league history.
Tevez has scored 56 goals in 132 matches, taking over the record of Gus Poyet.
The time difference between Charles N’Zogbia’s brace for Wigan was just 107 seconds at St James Park. Wigan was finally able to register their first first-half goal this season. N’Zogbia managed to score two goals in quick successions, the first one coming
at the 22nd minute.
