And who is going to be the shocker/surprise team of the season?

My Answer: I think Chelsea's is going all the way. I think Man U is going to be a disappointment as the whole Ronaldo/ Real Madrid tension will spill onto the field. And as for surprise of season, look for Tottenham to do REAL WELL now they have Arshavin (definately going to finish in top 5)...and my other shocker pick will be Sunderland (can see them breaking top 10 this year - Roy Keane is doing great job up there).

What about you good people? Winner? Dissapointment? and Shocker?

  1. i hope liverpool wins n if not them , then chelsea , but i'm afraid united's depth is gonna take them all d way - not d double this time but they're gonna b a handful for l'pool , chelsea n arsenal even though i think they're gonna get jus bt 80% effort from ronaldo

  2. winner: manutd i'm gonna support my team on this one...the ronaldo thing isnt gonna make much of a diff for the league i can bet on that...he just scores thats it(like van nistelrooy)...imo the best player is rooney...his assists/passing make the team play...will be a close one with chelsea tho.

surprise: tottenham they've always been my second fav team and have gud signings...altho the arshavin move hasnt happened yet...

shocker:liverpool..they're expected to do better but will finish 4th...they need wingers

    my order: 1 manutd 2 chelsea 3 arsenal 4 liverpool 5 tottenham 6 portsmouth

  3. 1.chelsea

    2.liverpool......dont ask why

    3.arsenal

    4.man u

thats how top 4 are gonna be

dissapointment will obv be man u if they finish 4th

    hull i have a feeling top 12

  4. Chelsea to win it all.

Liverpool to be the disappointment(Not like that's any different from every other year).

  5. manutd always..with or without ronaldo.we still have good players..giggs..rooney..good goalkeeper van der saar..one thing about manutd..the players have a certain drive to pick up on the games up to the last minute.

  6. 1.manu or arsenal

    3.chelsea

    4.totenham

    liverpool will dissapoint

mancity will also be good this year

  7. winner.. hmmm.. hard to tell..

dissapointment.. i think newcastle will have another disappointing season.

    shocker... sunderland

  8. People really underestimate how good United is as a team.

With or without Ronaldo.....they will still compete for the league.

No player is bigger than the club....SAF knows how to deal with any lockeroom tension.....just look what he did after the world cup incident between Rooney and Ronaldo.

After saying that.....On Paper, Chelsea looks like the stronger team who can win the title.....it will be a two horse race again with them and United and fortunately, Footy is not played on paper

Disappointment.....Manchester City and Blackburn.....I think both these clubs will finish in the bottom half of the table but completely safe from the relegation zone........City has the whole turmoil with their Owner having his money frozen and will be prosecuted in Thailand ....if things go bad....who knows what state the club will be in.....

Blacburn...losing Mark Hughes lead to a bit of players leaving the club.....I think Bentley was a massive hit for them and I see them struggling under new coach Paul Ince.

Both these clubs had a lot of potentinal but I don't see them doing much this season.

I agree with you on the Shocker in accordance with Sunderland. They have made some very good transfers and looks like a squad who can finish somewhere in the top 10. Roy Keane has turned out to be a terrific manager.....Diouf is a bit of a headcase but Keane is more than capable to put him in his place.

As for Spurs.....Its expected of them to do well....so the shocker with me for them is if they don't finish with at least an UEFA Cup spot.

  9. haha.. have to agree with u this time on the Man U thingy.... i feel bad for them... anyway, good luck to Chelsea and we will see who beats who... haha.... :)

  10. you are quite right but don't fer Rooney, he is there as well: many people think he is not good only because he dosn't score but e make goals up and you know Sir Alex Ferguson, he can get away with anything-the perfect example is the way he won the Primeir League in 2001 (by making the trible).

By the way Ronaldo made goals all by himslef, he team mates helped him a lot. Man Utd is much stronger know because players like hargreaves, anderson and nani got the expereince and top off that the primier league of expereince of 15 years of Ryan Giggs and Scholes.

    Key player: Wyane Rooney

Arsenal, i saw they would be a lot stronger then they were last year.

Theo Welcott will also get chance to play for the 11. This year will be his biggest year.

    Key Player: Theo Welcott

Chelsea, i say they will give Manchester United a tough challenge, agian this year but with a much stronger squad. They look to have the strongest squad in the Primeir League and that is one of their positive reasons to win the league.

    Key Player: Deco

Liverpool, they are a good club but they always give Champions League more priority after the won the cup in 2005 and coming in the final in 2007, that makes them think that they can come in every final. They give too much energy to Champions League that they they loose lot of energy and strenth to the Primeir League.

Another reason i think they will struggle is because of the manager, he dosn't look positive to go for the title, like other 3.

    Key Player: Steven Gerrard (captain)

i don't see Middlesbrough doing well, the scape the relegation last year but they need serious work doing this time around. Disappiontment

All they other clubs i think they will really go for it.

  11. Sunderland will be the shocker

  12. ManUtd's gonna win the EPL, dont care about whatever else happens.

  13. I would and will bet on Arsenal, because they have brilliant team chemistry, and that leads them to score a lot of team goals.  Man U will take home no trophies (Community shield doesn't count). 3rd place is my guess.  Ronaldo probably won't repeat his performance from last year.  Tottenham will do well, but they will probably finish in 7 or 8.  I think portsmouth will make 5th and Everton 6th.  I'll also take Fulham, Hull and Bolton to make the drop.

  14. I back Chelsea to win it. They've done everything right in the transfer season, and they've got The Manager in my opinion. Everybody says it was too much to ask Jose to win the Premiership in his first season. They ended up Champions with a record 95 points that season. I doubt Scolari will be different. Scolari's got charisma, commands respect and has got a no-nonsense attitude, unlike Avram.

The full-back problem is solved, and there is no dearth of scoring midfielders in Chelsea. They let go of the right players too. I doubt Makalele, Pizarro and Sidwell hanging around would have helped the team which obviously doesn't need them. And with Lampard saying he'll virtually end his career at Chelsea, the morale is high.

Last season, they were squashed by the departure of Jose. They weren't enthusiastic. They wanted to link up with Jose again and Avram got no respect from the players (think about Drogba) or the fans. They took the title race to the last day and lost the Champions League final due to a small slip-up which Avram couldn't help. Imagine what a high-morale, fully fit and enthusiastic Chelsea can do.

Everyone says it's insignificant, but no Ronaldo for the game at Stamford Bridge will be a big factor. And it is worthy to note that the Club World Cup clutters Man Utd's fixture list. They'll just run out of steam. They'll come second, and I seriously doubt if they'll reach the Champions League semis. There seems to be a Round of 16 curse hanging around:

I think the biggest disappointment will be Everton. They finished 5th last season, but they've had a very disappointing off-season. I doubt they'll get to the UEFA Cup by virtue of league position.

The biggest shocker, I think, will be West Brom. I might be way-off, but I'm backing them to do a Reading and finish in the top 12, way above where the pundits are placing them.
