What's the most common word for a knitted woolen or cotton over garment worn for warmth in your part of the world?

In Australia where I live, "Jumper" seems the most common word.

What word do you use, and where do you live?

  1. I live in Scotland and the most common word is Jumper:)

  2. Here in Scotland is "jumper" or "woolly jumper", which was very confusing at first because I learned English in the US where the word is "sweater" and in Chile we would use "sweater" as well!

  3. in central illinois we said sweater

in egypt it is a pullover

  4. I've lived in New Zealand, India, Thailand and the UAE

New Zealand - Jumper or Jersey

    India - Sweater

    UAE - Sweater

    Thailand - Sweater

I didn't know Guernsey was another word for sweater... I only know of it as a little island in the UK.
