English Summer Homework Help

I get summer homework and I need help with it. This homework is in my English 3 class. We had to read "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom. After reading it we have to answer a writing prompt.

Here is the prompt:

"Albom moves from the past to the present by detailing fifteen of Eddie's birthdays throughout the story. Analyze how this stylistic technique helps convey his theme that 'All endings are beginnings'(1) "

I need help on how to set this prompt. I am a junior in high school so I should probably already know this, but its summer and I can't really think. I was thinking that I set it up where I have a thesis and then give three examples. But I don't know how to form the thesis

I just need help because its due on August 18.

  1. just take the three ideas for the paragraphs take the main idesas then form them into one sentence then put it into the intro sentence

    that is a good book

  2. Hey, yeah, what I just did today for an essay (for the 19th) is something like this...

Paragraph 1, intro - "In Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven, ...." Then mention some major theme and three things that contributed to that theme. Close it with a thesis statement

Paragraph 2, discuss the first thing that contributes to the main theme and back it up with 1-2 quotes with parenthetical notation "quote" (pg #). or whatever way you are supposed to cite things at your school

Paragraph 3, same process, but discuss the second thing that contributes to the main theme, with quotes

Paragraph 4, same as above, but discuss the third thing that contributes to the main theme, with quotes

Paragraph 5, tie things together, defend your thesis, and close, restating the thesis, but word it a bit differently

I don't know if yours is supposed to be a five-paragraph essay or how long it needs to be, but...good luck!
