How hard is this job? What are the good & Bad points? How much work is required outside of the classroom?

  1. That depends...

    Are the syllabus and materials already put together and organized?  Will you be grading a lot of papers?   Generally, I allow one hour of prep and grading per class session in English, less for reading or math.   There seems to be more work at the beginning ( set up)  and end of the class ( finals, papers etc.)  In the middle, things settle down and run on momentum, if you are well organized.  Is all the work in a classroom, or is part of the course on line?

    How hard is it?   Might depend on the level and format of class, number and type of students, and your skills and experience.  

    Good points, classes tend to be more relaxed.  I can expect them to do more work independently. Discussions can be at a more adult level.
