English Test Help Needed?

Well i have this assessment task to do although im having trouble writing it. The question is:

How have audience, context and purpose shaped the way the novel "The Handmaid's Tale" and "the film "Gattaca" explore ideas about the future? Write an essay in which you will make detailed reference to both texts and demonstrate your understanding of the ways ideas about the future have been presented in your texts.

How do i write it? I know it has to be in the form of an essay but i still dont get it. I know how to write the opening paragraph i just need help with the rest of it.

You need to decide how these two books explore the

future. Find supporting details from both books that support

your theory and put all of this into essay form with your

thesis statement in the first paragraph. The supporting details from the books will make up the body of your essay

and then you will need a summary paragraph at the end.
