English War(s) after World War I

Is there an war that involved the English after World War I please (I am aware of World War II but I am trying to find something that happened shortly after World War I)

Immediately after that, started in 1919, came the rather protracted guerrilla war by the Irish which ended with most of the island becoming modern Ireland a free country, the exception being Northern Ireland.  Look up Irish Free State or Irish Republic and it should give you the information you need.
