  2. Our sense of humour!! Lets face it, most of the great comedians are Brits, so we must be doing something right?

  3. Well we are certainly waterproof!!!!

I see the spiteful Greenorlagh ***** is still spouting her nasty bile!!!!  If you were so perfectly educated yourself, you would know that a sentence begins with a capital letter.

Not so clever after all, are you sweetie? Anyone can check their spellings with the "spellchecker" but bad punctuation will always catch the "not so well educated" out.

At least us English have a sense of humour, and the reason Greenorlagh hides her profile is because EVERY answer she gives is nasty, vindictive, and oozing bile!!!

And of course the Irish (where Greenorlagh comes from) are known for their brains, aren't they?

  4. You have no idea how lucky you are being born English. You have a Passport that allows you to work and travel anywhere in Europe.

You live in the country with the strongest economy in the world.

  5. Real ale. True traditional English beer that the rest of the world try to copy and can`t. For example there`s Americans out there that think lager is REAL beer. There`s another point, our language has been perfected over the years, and despite efforts from overseas, it really doesn`t need changing thank you. Our sense of humour is also unique, because we don`t mind taking the "P" out of ourselves as well as others, providing it gets a laugh!

  6. Les Dawson.  Great pianist.

  7. Nothing. ( At least not from my point of view, No offense) But i LLLLOOOOVVVVEEE speaking English!!!!

  8. 1. The British Empire (we rule the world)

    2. The Accents (there's loads... from Georgies to Scousers)

    3. We drive on the left (unlike all the other countries)

  9. Nothing, but I do hate being called British.........

what culture does the UK have, slobs, lazy folks, yobs, drunks, what is there to be proud of those who are trying seem to get kicked in the teeth for their efforts, so why bother.......

  10. im trying to think of something. i seriously am.

what is there to be proud of? off the top of my head not a lot, sorry but its just my opinion. we have produced some pretty cool comediens though.

  11. we have a lot to be proud of i think.

Our biggest successes as a country is the freedom of expression, opinion and religion etc. Also rights to fair trial if we feel we are not receiving these.

We also have a good music scene to be proud of (might sound silly but some other countries in my opinion have an appalling music scene).

Even our history we have to be proud of (and knowing when to apologise for mistakes).

Beautiful sights, good food, diverse accents are some of many things . We wouldn't have any tourists or even people living here for that matter of no-one was proud of the red, white and blue

  12. i think we are a bit of an eccentric lot!!!

    stiff upper lip lark!!

    tea drinking!!!

eating fish and chips by the sea even if it's raining!

determind never to let the weather spoil things!!!

thats whats great about being englis and we have fantastic/ intresting history too!!!!

although i do think the country is in a bit of a state at the moment, i just hope it gets better!!!

  13. nothing

  14. OK so where would you sooner live than here........

Yes you cant think of anywhere .......

If you can then please go there now and stop moaning or go and moan there and see how you get on

Have another great day in Paradise cos this is as good as it gets

  15. Smiling Carcass: - I think you'll find that Keir Hardie is Scottish!

But otherwise, not a bad list.

  16. English? nothing!

  17. our history our cultural our language the English have a mixed cultural hertiage combined with Celtic Roman Anglo Saxon Viking and Norman

the English language is mixture of Latin Old English Old Norse and Norman Known as Norman French even though im English i don't live in England anyone i live in Wales now

  18. They have been known to have a good military in the past. very stubborn in a fight.

  19. British armed forces , the best in the world despite what the Yanks might think

  20. The word is 'losing' not 'loosing', dear....it's your language,be proud of it, get it right.

  21. 'loosing' (sic) its culture?

Maybe if you were a bit better educated then you wouldn't have to worry about 'loosing' anything!

There's nothing great about being English - poor education, an awful history in India, Africa, Australia, USA, Ireland - everywhere you went you were thrown out. A really horrible bunch of people really.

As for 'er indoors' well, she does have problems. The Irish are quite well known for having brains - maybe you tend to believe all those rather poor Irish jokes. Silly girl. Don't tell me you've never heard of the Land of Saints and Scholars!

  22. beautiful architecture, especially in london, one such building has quite a number of ageing comedians who believe they are running the country, they might as well be running to the loo for all the drivel they say.

  23. Oh lets just pull out my long extensive list. Oh look I lost it.

I agree with another view, I can't think of anything to be proud of as such, but somehow I still feel it...

    Edit:

I suppose I'm proud of the fact we have free health care...

Upon reading another answer, the literature & history is something to be bragging about if you got nothing better to do on a Friday night to a tourist in a pub...

  24. I notice that quite a few here can't see the difference between England and Britain - the forces are British - not English! The weather isn't English - it's just the weather! Kier Hardie was Scottish! Agincourt isn't in England.

Maybe the Irish girl does make a good point - education seems to have gone to the dogs in England.

Er indoors - don't be silly - do you honestly believe that all those jokes about the Irish being stupid are based on fact? The Irish education system is way far ahead of England's, they are far richer with a better economy than England - how does that make them stupid? Must have brains somewhere!

So what are the good things about England? The footie team won the WC once, the rugby team won the WC once, the cricket team isn't bad. Must be loads of other things...

  25. im American you england people ain't so fund of us Americans

  26. Our wonderful language and great history.

  27. Freedom of Religion

  28. Nada.

  29. ...I have no clue. There's no way we can come up with an opening ceremony like China did for the olympics. What've we got; Shakespeare, cockneys and page 3 girls... What're we gonna do with that? :(

    ...Boring country

...and actually our language is made up of several others thanks to our country having been invaded several times.

  30. we invent all these fantastic games and every other nation whips us at them.
