4. " Is the peanut a nut?" Janelle asked.

5. "Are all children precocious?" she inquired.

just paraphrase it all into sentences without quotes like such:

"Don't call me a coward," Leon warned.

to

He warned him not to call him a coward.

and

Diana says, "Watch your words."  

to

She warned him to watch his words.

something along that line  ;)
