For english I am doing an assignment where I have to read a book and then make or find things (items) that are important from the book and put into a box...

I don't know what book to do it on... I need one which has lots of notes, objects etc. that i could make to put into the box. (string characters)

so can someone please take the time to suggest a good book the basic outline of it and some objects that I could possibly put in it...

thanks a bunch,

  1. I will suggest some books, but you will have to read it and do the assignment yourself.

    To Kill a Mockingbird

    Of Mice and Men

    The Things They Carried

    The Color Purple

    The Sweet Hereafter

    Ellen Foster

    Shane

The next time you go to your doctor, imagine that someone had done  homework for him or her.

  2. i think u could do this assignment based on any book you want

and another thing...isn't the point of this assignment supposed to be learning about symbolism?

do the objects u put in the box have to literally be in the book?

for example, if u were to choose Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, it's more interesting to put a dog collar in the box, saying

"The dog collar represents the character Anna because it restrains her animation and prevents her from breaking free from tradition" or sth like that

  3. I can't agree more... Ten Little Indians would be excellent for this project.  The general plot is that ten total strangers are invited to an island by a Mr/Mrs Owen.  What do they all have in common?  They are responsible, in some form, for murder.  They find a poem called "Ten Little Indians" in which all ten die.  Strangely enough, the real characters start to end up dead and their deaths follow the poem.  With each death, a China doll "Indian" is found. There are several items you might include... here are a few suggestions:

-The letter inviting one (or all) of the characters to the island

-The poem, titled Ten Little Indians, revealing how each character will die

-China doll (found after each death, one for each character)

-Cyanide (first death is by poison)

-Sleeping pills (second is by overdose)

    -Ax (blow to the back)

-Hypodermic needle (disguised as a bee sting)

    -Gun / bullet

-Bear statue / clock (fell and smashed character to death)

-Fish (character found dead in water)

    -Gun (one character shoots another)

    -Noose (then hangs herself)

Now, obviously you can't put cyanide or a gun in a box for a school project.  But you could make miniatures... for example, there is rope and a revolver that come in the "Clue" game set.  Good luck!

  4. I would suggest that you read Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians.  It is a murder mystery where the whole lot of them end up dying.  Each one dies from a different weapon, so each weapon or a representation of it could be brought to school.

  5. I would not recommend Ten Little Indians.  I don't think the Cassie's school would want her bringing in guns and axes, replica or otherwise!
