I want a english bulldog so bad. And i just about had my husband talked in to getting me one. Until someone said that either the male or female has a stink sack. He is no longer on the ideal of spending 1200$ on a stinky dog. Is this true?

  1. There is no such thing as a "stink sack."  Whoever you talked to probably meant anal glands, and all dogs have them.  They normally are expressed when a dog defecates, but if they become infected or impacted it really is the worst smell ever and can be taken care of by a vet.

Do more research.  You're going to spend a h**l of a lot more money than $1200 if you decide to get an English Bulldog.  The breed is rife with genetic problems.  Hip dysplasia, luxating patellas, and worse.  Prepare to have at least 5k in savings for operations the dog will likely need to live a less painful life.  Hip surgery is extremely expensive.  These dogs also have a very hard time breathing, and there have been cases of deaths in weather in the high 80s.

It's not a good choice for a dog unless you like pouring your money into a wrinkled, drooling, gas machine.  Good luck finding a more suitable breed.

  2. I don't think the smell any different then any other dog ,

though they do f**t a lot and it reeks , hahaha !

But believe me , its worth the money ! Personally I like

french bulldogs more , they are smaller and cuter in my opinion

though they are more money .. unless you can find a good deal .

  3. 1500$ why dont you buy a mixed breed they are less expensive and sometimes better......not all bulldogs stink...

  4. Stink sack?  Are you talking about anal glands?  If so, all dogs have them.  Some dogs express them on their own and others don't.  I have a Bulldog that needs to have her glands expressed by the vet, but I don't believe this problem is breed related.

  5. I have never heard of a "stink sack". Just think all dogs are the same species. Something like that would be on them all. They are prone to skin allergies which could make them smell weird if not handled, but there is no "sack"
