How does your audience influence your approach to writing your paper

  1. The language you use would be different depending on who you wanted the essay to appeal to. For example, you probably wouldn't use the same tone and language for an essay to be read by your headteacher (I'm assuming you're in school) than an essay to be ready by your peers.

Ideally while you're writing, you shouldn't think about your audience.  You should try to write the best possible paper (story, novel, whatever) you can.  If it's a research paper, you need to have researched your topic extensively and provide excellent references (citations) within your paper.

    Of course, if this is a paper that is going to be read by many people or even an oral report, then you can't help but think about your audience.  So it does come into play (our audience) whether we want them to or not.  A famous writer said she just tries to write the most honest story she possibly can and that if you think about your audience that can cripple you.
