Manchester United, Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are all in the race to secure the signature of the talented left-back
The admission of Lyon’s president, Jean-Michel Aulas, that the star defender could leave the club, has raised speculation that the 24-year-old could well be on course to land in one of the English’s elite clubs in the recent future.
Manchester United was the first club to scout the France International some 18 months ago.
The talented full-back is considered as a long-term replacement for current left-back at United, Patrice Evra. The Frenchman is already 31, and it is inevitable that the player cannot play for full 90 minutes throughout the season.
However, lately Manchester United have put their interest in the French star to a backburner, and have turned their focus towards a more established defender, Leighton Baines of Everton.
And it seem quite possible that the wanted man from Lyon will eventually end up at Goodison Park, since their own left-back is under intense monitoring from the Red Devils.
Liverpool and Tottenham have also been looking to acquire the services of talented Cissokho.
Apart from the interest from the Premier League clubs in Aly Cissokho, Jean-Michel Aulas has also identified Spanish club Valencia, who are keeping tabs on the player.
The Spanish outfit is reportedly looking for a replacement for Jordi Alba, following his departure to Barcelona on a five year contract, for an estimated 14 million euro fee.
Mauricio Pellegrino, manager of team Valencia, who too used to play as a defender during his time, has already come up with a bid for the player, which says it all about the seriousness of the club to lure the left-back into the club’s folds.
Although, Olympique Lyonnais have officially received bids from two different clubs, Les Phoceens are in no hurry to sell the player, until and unless they receive an offer which they cannot afford to turn down.
Lyon's president said, “We have received two proposals for Aly, one from Spain and one from England”.
Aulas was however quick to add that, “We are dealing patiently with two clubs because we have no obligation to sell at any price”.
