  1. Here's the answer to half of your question:

There were no English Colonies in North America during the 1500's.

Sir Humphrey Gilbert of England, aligned himself with the Frobisher expedition to Greenland, which was a failure.

In the 1578, Sir Humphrey Gilbert used his own money to attempt to establish a colony in North America, but that failed.

In 1587, what is now known as the "The Lost Colony" on Roanoke Island, North Carolina, also failed. Sir Walter Raleigh, Gilbert's half-brother, was in charge of this attempt.

The Jamestown Colony was established in 1607, by The Virginia Company.

None of these were royal colonies; they were proprietary/charter colonies.

  2. Actually there were English colonies in the 1500's just not in America though people from England had all ready come over. It affected the colonies in America in the 1600's because the English deiced to make the people who lived in the colonies pay for the civil war also it caused the English to move their civil war over to the colonies.
