  1. 1st example: answer a is correct. "the way you talk" is followed by a singular verb ( present simple - third person " makes").  the verb make is followed by a bare infinitive ( sound) in the active voice.

2nd example: sentence 1 is correct. "the pants" are followed by a plurar verb ( present simple plural 3d person). again the verb "make" is followed by a bare infinitive ( look).

  2. 1 is correct in both cases. The object in the first is not plural (the way...makes) and the object in the second is (the pants...make) so in order for the tenses to agree they must be so.

  3.   1..... 4

  4. first: 1

    second: 1

pants is plural.  "pair of pants".  its make.

  5. First: #1 b/c the "s" is in the incorrect place in the rest of the sentences.

    Second: #1, same reason

  6. 1 & 1 are correct.

The subjects of the sentence are third person singular nouns, so the verbs, add an s to the end.

If the speaker is talking about himself, it's first person. If the speaker is talking about the person listening, it's second person. If the speaker is talking about someone or something other than himself or the listener, it's third person. For some reason, when you speak in the third person singular, you usually ad an s to the verb in English.

  7. Example 1. # 1 is correct.

    Example 2. # 1 is correct.

These are correct because in ex.1 the noun WAY is singular meaning the verb has to be plural MAKES. Same with ex.2
