  1. Homophone: a word that sounds exactly like another word, but with a different meaning and spelling. Example: night vs. knight

Homograph: one or more words that have the same spelling but different meanings and/or origins and may differ in pronunciation. Example: "hair bow" vs. "bow of a ship"

Homonym: a word or term with the same spelling as another but with a different meaning. Example: sound (noise) vs. sound (stretch of water)

Compound Sentence: a sentence composed of at least two independent clauses, but one that does not need a dependent clause. Example: "She left the glass on the table, or so I thought."

    Does this help at all?

  2. the first three are all words with the same spelling or pronunciation or both but have different meanings like to, two, and too

a compound sentence is basically two sentances joind together with a compoud word (and, or, but)

an example of a compund sentance could be

"I gave you some examples, AND you can go to wikipidia.com for more help."

    hope that helps!
