English is my first language yet I get my words muddled up?

This mostly occurs when I speak to people, I kind of stutter, it's like I don't know which word to say next, but when I'm writing it's fine.

How can I fix this?

  1. I've got the same problem sometimes, when I speak in Italian, which is my first language.

Especially when I have to tell a resume or a story, when I have to explain something.

Yet this doesn't happen at school; I don't know why...

When I'm at school it's alright.

At home I find it dificult to tell, for example, a book I read or something that has happened to me...

  2. i'm like that too...

but then i slow down and speak softly or calmly......

  3. This sometimes happens to me too, I find it's when I'm nervous or trying to rush an answer to someone. When we talk with someone we tend to copy their speed when talking, so if you're talking to someone who speaks quickly and you try to speak at the same speed it may be too quick for you to think properly about what you are going to say. I'd try to speak slower, even if it feels strange, you may find you give yourself more time to think about what you want to say..

  4. i get my mords wuddled too

  5. speak more often so you will be comfortable speaking
