Question:

English is so easy to learn!?

As I am from mexico I must say English is so easy to learn! Yet no one believes me when I say this, they say English is so hard to learn. I don't understand this? It has simple grammar and no genders, it's easy!

And to prove my point I looked around German,French, etc and used a translator to see their opinions. You wanna know what they said?

"English native speakers have made it harder for them in all languages, because your grammar structure(English) is much simpler than that of many other languages (except exceptions times)" - German guy.

"Since English is not as grammatically complex, as the German language, it is relatively easy to learn. " - German guy

English is a cool language. I like this language and it is very easy to learn. - German guy

English is a language rather easy - French guy(note that the bad grammar is because I am using google translator to translate)

In fact, English is a language quite easy at the grammatical construction. The format of the sentences is quite logical (and the overall structure of the sentence is similar to that of french) and does not change (as in German for example where, as the case may be the verb at the end of the sentence or second position ). There are some exceptions to the level of conjugations but which are learned easily with a little discipline. - French girl

(in response to being asked whats the hardest part of english) --------------For me, the pronunciation!

The rest is learned in books with a little motivation and perseverance ... The grammar is nothing complicated (it's just a matter of logic) and vocabulary. -French Girl

So I hope I've proven my point. And if you don't believe me translate, "Is english hard to learn" into other languages and search on yahoo answers. Obviously very few will say it's hard. I am not saying English is a breeze, learning ANY language will be hard, but English is just one of the easiest.

All you native-english speakers are really ignorant to the fact your language is so easy to learn!

  1. So, I guess that means we have a kick@ss language and that your native-spanish sucks @ss.

  2. I think English is pretty easy, which just makes me even angrier that it's my native language.  But it can be a little complicated at times and there are many changes being made to the words people use in everyday life.  Slang is always changing which might make a politician fairly easy to understand, but native speakers would know what in the world Lil Wayne was saying.  (I mean, I don't even know what the heck he's saying half of the time)

  3. You are proving absolutely NOTHING by showing us a non-critical appraisal of the language, based on a litany of comments that lack in depth and style (your writing leaves a lot to be desired).

Instead of flaunting about your meagre knowledge of the English language (which is a type 1 language, hence nothing to brag about), focus on actually making your prose more elegant and salient. Consider also taking logic classes to make your arguments and expositions more 'logically sound'.

If English is easy for you, then why not learn other languages? I master 4, and plan on learning more; I don't flaunt about my knowledge because that is just not an elegant manner of demonstrating my linguistic abilities.

    Cheers!

  4. Well. That's good that you find English to learn, but the question is can you actually pronounce everything you wrote? I know a bunch of people that type really, really well when writing but suck at oral pronunciation.

*Edit: Haa, Dee ^^ you make a point. Thumbs up

  5. Your Grammar is horrible. Enough said with this troll.

  6. Actually english is one of the hardest languages to learn, because there are a lot more grammatical rules, it is just a bunch of languages combined in one, and quite frankly most native english speakers have trouble with it themselves.  also foreigners have a lot of trouble pronouncing it correctly and it is harder to say clearly than a lot of other languages and us native english speakers from america, uk, australia, etc. have trouble understanding a lot of them especially the ones with heavy accents.  it is definitely not as complicated as chinese and japanese, but english can be very perplexing at times, and there is also tons and tons of slang you have to pick up on.  not trying to sound rude, but i'm just saying truthfully.

I guess us "native-speakers" find it harder, because it throws us off when we try to learn other languages, and you are probably a smarter character therefore you might be able to learn it easier.  being a cashier when a bunch of foreigners that aren't native-speakers are so hard to understand.

i can't believe you have the audacity to give me an attitude.  you are being throuroghly ridic, and i am now comprehensively aggro.

  7. nobody speaks perfectly unless you're some newscaster or speech professor.

  8. Clearly your a clever guy if it was a breeze for you to learn.

However, English has only a few tenses compared to so many languages and it's not always easy for someone to condense this concept. But once they finally grasp the concept they will bloom.

On the other hand I'm glad to hear that it's easy to learn. Please share and encourage anyone you know not to be afraid of learning this language.

I've heard many excuses and now someone from Mexico has just confirmed that there really isn't reason for anyone not being able to learn English. You've just confirmed the reason behind American protest regarding Spanish requirements in the work force. (catering to those who claim they can't learn English!).... We owe you a big thanks!!!

  9. interesting....thanks for the info.

Mandarin Chinese on the other hand....

  10. Good.  Glad to hear it.
