When should I use "like"? When should I rather use "as"?

Should I say:

- I try to sing like a good singer would sing.

OR

- I try to sing as a good singer would sing.

- Don't think like they would do.

OR

- Don't think as they would do.

Thank you very much. Bye

  1. like in the first sentence

and take out "would" in the second sentence and either like or as will work, but most nowadays would use like in the second sentence

  2. i think it should be...."i tried to sing like a good singer would"...."don't think like they would do"....i'm very sorry if these answers are wrong, but i'm only trying to help!!!!!

  3. use "like" when you are comparing things.

use "as" when there is a direct connection between them.

both of your examples should use "like".
