  1. Do you know the reason for he being late?

I can't do this without you helping me!

  2. Do you know the reason for HIS being late

he being late is just not proper, him being late is a misstatement all over the USA

A better way to say the same sentence easier is...

Do you know his reason for being late.

I can't do this without you helping me.

Correct in principal, however you are correct it should read for better flow as...

I can't do this without your help.

  3. 1. Do you know the reason for HIM being late?

The reason is that "him" is an object pronoun (like I did it to him) and, in this case, "him" is the direct object of the verb to be (or being as a gerrand).

    2. I can't do this without you helping me - that's perfect just the way it is. You could also say I can't do this without HIM helping me.

Again, in this case, him is the object of the verb to help (or helping as a gerrand).

NOTE: You may hear some english speakers say "Do you know the reason for HIS being late. That is wrong because "his" is a possesive pronoun (like that book is his - or his book is small etc).

Likewise, you may also hear "I can't do this without your helping me." That too is wrong and for the same reason. Your is also a posessive pronoun (such as your book etc)

    Rich

  4. No1: Do you know the reason for his being late

No2: I can't do this without your helping me.

You need to use the possessive adjective (his, your) in each of these. The object of the preposition is the gerund in both sentences... being and helping. They look like verbs, but they are treated like nouns in these situations.

  5. ummm.. no 1. would be said: Do you know the reason for him being late?

and no2  I can't do this, without you helping me. (you can say it like that, but really don't sound right) You can also say this... Without you helping me, I can't do this... or... With you not helping me I can't do it.   Instead of using it maybe use "it". It just sounds better. Otherwise those would be ok to say. Make sure you use that comma, for slight pauses. And it should be him. if you use that in the second sentence

  6. 1. Do you know the reason for him being late

    2. I think it's right

  7. In the first one, "he" should be "him". For the second one, I don't think I see anything wrong with it.
