  1. He got the sack for telling the truth.  It was a man called Ted Heath who  sacked him,  the very same a'shole who signed our sovereignty over to Europe.  Bye  the way you guys who are posting such ridiculous things about rivers of blood should have been in Burnley when our buildings were burning or perhaps you would have prefered Oldham,  Brixton,  Bradford or Toxteth.

  2. A much mis-represented speech by him which was never fully published, because the media wanted to scaremonger, gave rise to the Rivers of Blood. He could have been a great asset to this country if he had only been given the chance.

We have not the seen racial riots as he was alleged to have predicted, but we have had, and do have trouble because we allow too many immigrants into the country.

The expansion of the EU is a lot to do with this, due to our government being blind to the fact.

  3. Enoch RIP

  4. On some issues he was correct! On some issues he was wrong!

  5. Un visionaire.

  6. NO

Enoch Powell was racist and a Tory.

What "rivers of blood" have there been since he made that speech?

  7. Hi from Glasgow - Enoch Powell said 'When you see the black man walking across the bridge shoot him' what would happen if someone said that today. I vaguely remember him but my dad was always talking about him saying he was a great person..

  8. Certainly do and sometimes I think that speech was taken out of context. I think he was only trying to protect our identity as an Island race, which has now been torn to shreds. No I'm not a racist but having lost my identity as being English I feel aggrieved.

  9. The best Prime Minister this country never had

  10. In the future he will be seen as a prophit , And they sneered and ridiculed him . Now the same newspapers are complaining about exactly what he warned about . He must be rolling about in his grave with laughter at the fools who castigated him. and as for the people who say were are the rivers of blood didnt you notice the 60 people who died in the london bombings (perhaps they had no blood) and that is just the begining give it time , and we will rue the day they didn,t listen to a very wise man.

  11. I remember him in the sixties as an unimportant, minor politician, booted out of his own party. He made that speech 40 years ago. I don't see any rivers of blood.

  12. I'm old enough to remember Powell.

His 'rivers of blood' speech employed a metaphor that the ignorant chose to take literally.

He expressed an opinion about immigration in a pragmatic way.

He was not a prophet of our time, but he was a more clear thinking politician than Le Pen.

Le Pen is an out and out racist whose views and violent tactics have no place in a modern democracy, as the French electorate have repeatedly demonstrated.

  13. Enoch was a highly intelligent racist. Having had the misafortune to peruse the speech, i have yet to see the black man having the whip hand as predicted by  Herr Powell.

He wasn't a prophet of our time, he was a scare mongering bigot who thought communal violence would be a staple of British society in the 21st century having witnessed it in India.

Thankfully, he was wrong on all counts and i'm glad to live a multicutural society like the UK. If you don't like the diversity, our passport allows us to live and work in 24 other countries in the EU.

Execrcis your treaty rights if you really are seeking a lily white country.

Diversity is here to stay in the UK and i'm glad to live in the most diverse city in the world, London.

  14. I am old enough to remember him making that speech at the time. He was pillored for what he said, but he was telling it the way it was heading. The proof is what is happening in the UK now. It didn't take rocket science to work out what was going to happen in the long term.

You only have to read the press every day to see what's going on. This Country is finished. Teflon Tony and his cronies together with The Human Rights Act, Political Correctness, Health and Safety, the EU have seen to that!

  15. It's a pity he isn't here now to take on this Government, with it's excessive political correctness. He made some pretty accurate predictions, although he was denigrated and laughed at at the time.

  16. I'm a Scotsman and not only do i remember him, i agreed with all he said and stood for.

  17. they bomb us

they take our houses and jobs

    the have there own laws

if you say anything you are a racist

    they riot in the streets

no wounder so many people are emigrating

they say they are british but then say its not there first choice to live here

  18. No I dont believe he was right , this speech was made in the 70s and to date there have been no rivers of blood, he was however a man of integretybut missgided, what has disgusted me though is that sucsesive govenments have failed to control imigration but have coluded with big buisness to import and exploit imigrants and the low paid indiginious peoples and in some cases experiment with social order, while failing to cope with the needs of the population, NHS, Social Services, Housing , Policeing, it does not matter who has made speaches about the English riseing up and taking to the streets, WI, Asian,African,English poor is poor, and bad is bad and injustice is injustice,we are all in this and its going to take all of us to get ourselves out.

  19. Ooooh, not very p.c. are we, what about English women? Obviously I joke, but there are plenty of moronic drones in the p.c. brigade that would have seriously took offense to that! I do not personally remember Enoch, but I have heard his speech & believe that it was correct. As far as the rivers of blood were concerned, hasn't our society been altered quite considerably by the events of 9/11 & 7/7? Are tensions still running high? & if things in our society continue to work for the immigrant & against the national, isn't civil war a possibility in the future? I think so, & it's scary. Our country needs to find its identity. We need to split into groups again, consisting of Welsh, Irish, Scottish & English, abolish Great Britain, Become separate states forming the UK, & be proud of our heritage, instead of hiding it & being almost ashamed of it. Fly our national flags, eat haggis, black & white pudding, force halal meats out of our schools & stop pandering to the immigrants! There are pubs that only allow Polish people in, job centres only for the Asians, yet anyone can walk into our Working mens clubs? Its all double standards & contradictions all the way. Out the idiots in our Government that allow these injustices to bestow our nation! Be proud & stick 2 fingers up to any one that calls you a racist, bigot or islamaphobe for not wanting to bow down to these limp wristed, p.c., EU loving namby pamby fools. Because when the blood starts running, they'll be held up somewhere safe, whilst you & I do the risk taking & take the brunt of it!

  20. You hit it right on the head, as every thing he said was true, and some of these writers should have been in Bradford during the riots, as it reminded me of what they were getting abroad. We are overwhelmed here in this City, and they are staying and taking over now,Shops, premises, housing, and anything they can lay their hands on.Plus a couple of years ago they were talking of changing the name of our City. They have not succeeded   yet, but who knows in the future ?They are getting on the Council now..

  21. Yea, he was right, But he was accused of being racist to detract from whether he was actually right. A lot of statements people make today regarding mutl-culturalism may be racist, but they are true none the less.

  22. I'm Welsh and agree with much of what Enoch Powell said. A lot of people think he was prophetic in what he said.  However, the anti-facists and leftists bitterly oppose him as they think he was a racist.  I don't recall he ever said anything derogatory about different races, just that he didn't think large-scale, *uncontrolled* immigration (not immigration itself) was a good thing for our country.  And in many ways he's been proven right.

Little known fact: he spoke fluent Urdu.  If he'd really been a racist I doubt he'd have gone to the trouble of learning an Indian language . . .

As for those who say they have seen no "rivers of blood", hmm, many could argue that the streets of London ran with the blood of innocents on 07/07/05 when 4 young Muslims of Pakistani and Jamaican descent detonated suicide bombs on the London Underground and murderered 52 civillians, injuring many more.  Several further attempts by Islamic extremists to create a terror attack in the UK have since been foiled . . .

  23. Yes - remember Enoch well.

And I agree with most of what he said.

We are now seeing the results of gross neglect of immigration control  -  the influx of aliens with  values foreign to what used to be a United Kingdom.

7/7 the streets of London did run with blood, as 'British' bred, raised, 'educated' youths of the Islamic creed self-destucted killing and maiming grievously.

Whilst Liberals plead we must continue being reasonable, tolerant, accepting, etc.  ???

  24. Look at the UK today and ask yourself ,what Enoch Powell said was it so off the mark. In my honest opinion no it wasn't, his vision of what would happen has happened, more the pity :)

  25. a man before his time

    its all coming true

  26. à tes souhaits!!!

                : )

  27. To you guys who are saying there's been no rivers of blood, com'on,

O.K. l've said my bit, now you can go back to sleep.zzzzzzzz

  28. He was right about a lot of things.

    Much maligned man that one.

  29. Enoch Powell was a cryptofascist tool

  30. His speeches were prophetic
