English pool cues ??

Why do they have the bevel-Flat side on the butt -Pool not Snooker cues

Also proper name for a Snooker cue -Set _Kit ??

I think it is a 6 pc + case

  1. I don't know Johnny, but I have seen that bevel on both English pool cues and snooker cues.  I'm curious to know what that is all about as well.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.


  2. I'm not sure what the original reason for this bevel or flat side was. I do know that a lot of players use it as a guide, so that the cue is always being held it the same position while shooting. Sort of like marking a ferrule or having a dot on the shaft. Just another way of trying to get the most consistancy out of a cue.

    This may or may not be why they started with it, but it wouldn't surprise me. Perhaps someone else has more insight.

    I don't know about the set_kit thing.  sorry
