  1. i advice you to buy a book like "italian for travelers" because Italian people are not so good in foreign languages

    =)

  2. I am an American who has worked and lived in Italy and traveled throughout the country MANY times.  It is unusual not to find someone who at least knows enough English to assist you in purchasing bus or train tickets, as Italy is so popular with tourists.

I'm jealous -- the area you are going to visit is beautiful, the people are warm and friendly, and the food -- especially the seafood -- and wines are fantastic!

Learn a few phrases (courtesy phrases) as Italians are always appreciative of travelers who make an effort in this regard.  Just learn to say various greetings (good morning, good day, good evening), goodbye, thank you, and similar phrases.  There are dozens of books that can help, and most good guide books have phrase sections in the back.

    Buon viaggio!

  3. i'm italian, from naples, near sorrento/positano/amalfi. the shop who sells bus tickets usually are TABACCHI and BAR, maybe in that little country, there are some specific place too. anyway it isn't hard to find a ticket :) i hope they speak english, anyway you can say: BUS TICKET, or in italian: AVETE (do you have) BIGLIETTI (tickets) PER (for) I (the) BUS? if you need more info, contact me in private by mail. i hope to have helped you. enjoy your holiday :)

  4. not a clue but enjoy

  5. You have to learn some polite gestures: good morning, good night, doog day, I say thank you for it,I am asking it, and it is possible to get very good conversational pocketbooks apart from this, from which a small one it is possible to talk.
