I heard they can make RMB 10,000 per month, is that true for most cases or some rare case in private international school in Beijing, Shanghai? do they need to pay housing themselves? do they need to pay income tax?

I heard most chinese workers only make RMB 1500 per month?

  1. It depends on where you live I guess. Living expense is significantly higher in the bigger/developed cities. One of my friends lives in ShenZhen, China. His one bed room apartment cost 2000rmb a month. He's currently working as a telemarketer and he makes 3000rmb to 8000rmb depending on the commission he make. Some of his co-workers make up to 15,000rmb a month. My cousin is making 2000rmb a month as a middle school math teacher. One of my uncles is a factory worker and he makes 4000rmb in ShangHai. You can't really use the term "average" here I guess... 'cause it's a pretty big range.

Although I have heard of someone telling me that English teacher from an English speaking country such as U.K. or U.S.A. can make a fortune teaching in China. Yeah I wouldn't be surprise if they pay you more than 10,000rmb a month if you could get in to a good school.

I'd say you should contact the schools in China, and ask them about this. It'll be your best bet. Most of us here are just here to praise China... or bash China lol

...I know this is no help but I just felt like talking... typing... whatever

  2. hi in china at the moment was offered 7000rmb a month (22hrs a week which is a lot of work so be careful of the amount you think u can teach) to teach + apartment (but cause of other commits i couldn't stay)also i have no qualification, was told by the other teachers easy to make 10 000rmb a month after teaching for a while as you get lots of ppl wanting u to teach there kids 1 on 1 standard price 100rmb per hr also no tax but lots of schools have penalizing clauses in the contracts that can amount to lots of your income, but if u can find a good one a great country to come to a place you'll want to return to guaranteed

  3. yes it is true, I manage teachers in Shanghai and you can make this and more, depending on your experience and degrees, Chinese public schools, but, you are right, usually only in the big cities, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and a few other of the bigger cities, I also have a few teachers out west and they make $500 per month but it is pure gravy b/c everything else is covers, food, housing, bills and travel expenses
