Can someone help me out by asking their Irish teacher or translating for me:

"For Love Lost"

For my family members that recently died, going to get it done as a collar tattoo.

thanks

  1. Irish is of course a language (gaelic is not).

For Love Lost = Ar son Ghrá Caillte

It sort of means "on behalf of love lost"

  2. Irish... you mean Gaelic?

If that is indeed what you mean Gaelic is a dead language. Meaning very few people speak it anymore.

    do grá caillte

This is the best I got for you, but don't hold me to it.

If you want to try for certain you can always try this link http://www.appliedlanguage.com/languages...

Mmmm... try learning your history. Gaelic is a language... and  Irish is a a form of it.
