Enlarge Image size of pictures?

Question

Is there any way to increase the amount of pixels(?) I have a 10megapixel camera, but I cropped some pictures that I need to send out (to a contest) and they must be at least 2mp. some of my best shots are just shy? ANY help (ASAP) would be greatly appreciated.

Download IrfanView. Increase the size of the image and then crop it to reduce the pixel-y look.

It allows to quadruple the megapixel count with very little detail loss, it's quite amazing.

Not really ... I think you can see now why it is so important to fill the frame when you actually take the shots, not later using a photo program.  Basically you convert your nice 10mp camera into about a 6mp camera when you crop on the computer.

Can you send them TIFF files?  Those will be much larger than 2mb files.  Did you save them at their highest quality JEPG compression at 300 DPI ... you may just have to go back to your originals and re-crop and then save them in a way to preserve more image data.
