In my 55 gallon tank i have: 2 angelfish, 2 blue gouramis, 7 black neon tetras, 4 glowlight tetras, and 1 pleco. I want to add 3-4 cory cats, do I have enough space? If so what kinds of cories do you recommend?

  1. Yes depending on the type of pleco! Some grow over 18"

There are many cories, you could go for the 'common' type - Bronze or Albino Corydoras that are cheap in most Fish stores or something more exotic depending on your budget - Sterbai, Panda Cories etc many many different types. I'd go for at least 4 if not 6 though.

  2. First of all the gouramis can grow to about 4 inches each and the angels can grow to about 6 inches in width and up to 12 inches in height, and Cory's can get to 2.5 inches each.

So including your tetra's and the pleco, saying that about 9 inches for the angels that would add up to a total of between 41-46 inches(because the pleco can get very big). So i would say that you could add 3 cory's but after that your tank would be full.

  3. It should be fine. I have a variety of cory cats in one of my tank. An albino one, an emerald one, a panda cory, and a salt and pepper cory. You could get 4 of the same of 2 of each or whatever.
