Question:

Enriched Classes?

I am going into the middle school next year, and I got a letter in the mail saying that I was in the Enriched Math Class. And all it said was that the class was to enrich students in math.

I feel stupid asking this, but what does it mean? Is it like an advanced class?

  1. Yes, an enriched math class is more advanced than an academic one. The teacher will probably be stricter or teach the material at a faster pace. You might also learn slightly more than the curriculum.

If you got into an enriched math class, that is by all means a good thing :)

  2. Enriched Classes are classes for smart kids.  The teacher usually teaches at a faster pace than a regular classroom.  If you get in enriched classes now, you will probably stay in enriched classes through high school, and that looks good on your transcript.
