The Genoa President admits that Juventus were unlucky not to have gone away with a victory but stated that the Rossoblu had complaints of their own.
The Old Lady needed a victory against Genoa to close the gap on AC Milan to two points at the Serie A summit.
Despite the best efforts by the Turin stars, they were not successful in their attempts to breach the Grifone defence, as the game ended as a goalless stalemate at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
Preziosi has stated that his club were lucky to have scraped through the match with a point. The Lady Killers sought for that elusive goal throughout the match and struck the woodwork on three occasions.
Antonio Conte would have rued the lack of mercy shown by lady luck, in their attempts to secure a victory. However, Conte has been giving silent treatment to the media and this continued, as no Juventus representative was available for the post-match conference.
Preziosi felt that Juve were by far the better side in the afternoon, commenting:
“I will just say this: on the field, Juventus clearly deserved to win. It’s true we had a few chances, but Juve were a class above from the first to the 90th minute. If it had ended 2-0, we’d have
had few complaints.”
He was full of praise for the Old Lady, and stated his high regard for their squad strength, despite the fact that they played a midweek match in the Serie A.
Despite his admiration for the Turin outfit, the Genoa chief stated that if Juventus were hard done by refereeing decisions, his side should have had a penalty as well. He went on to state:
“Having said that, at the end we should’ve had a penalty, just as Simone Pepe’s offside goal could’ve been allowed. I’ll be honest here. I don’t know if is because we were at the end of the game that it wasn’t
given, but I am not angry and have no intention of complaining. I just want it explained.”
The Rossoblu chief distanced himself from any controversy, as he did not comment on the match official’s decision to overturn Genoa’s penalty claims.
