The Genoa President believes that the interest in the young striker is exaggerated, and has stated that the player will stay at the Rossoblu if negotiations with AS Roma remain inconclusive.
Enrico Preziosi has stated that he has had enough of the chaos surrounding Mattia Destro, and has stressed that he will keep the striker at his club if his negotiations with AS Roma fail.
Genoa have recently bought back the half-share in the player from Siena, and have also agreed on terms with the Giallorossi for the transfer of the striker.
However, in the latest episode of the continuing drama, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan player’s negotiations with the capital outfit on personal terms have stalled, as the attacker is asking for a wage that justifies the hype surrounding him.
Preziosi defined the affair as the silliest thing that has ever happened to him, and slammed all the parties involved for being selfish and problematic.
The Genoa chief was adamant that Destro is yet to prove himself in Italy’s top flight, and played down the interest in the player as a mass exaggeration.
While talking to the press, the Rossoblu patron said:
“In my 22 years in football, the Destro affair is the silliest thing that has ever happened to me. Everyone is trying to look after their own interests, but that then creates problems. We are talking far too much about a lad who so far has scored only 10
Serie A goals, so Destro still needs to prove himself.”

The Genoa boss stated that the negotiations between the player and the Giallorossi have stalled, and insisted that the former Siena striker will remain at his club if the talks fail.
“The negotiations have hit the rocks and it looks very dark. It is a scandalous situation and if he doesn’t seal the deal then he will remain at Siena. I am nauseated and have never seen anything like it.” He added.
