Liverpool defender, Jose Enrique let out his admiration for Barcelona’s playing style, and revealed that his team were looking to adopt the same formula under manager, Brendan Rodgers.
The Spanish giants are often credited for their ‘tiki-taka’ playing philosophy, which involves keeping as much possession on the ball as possible and to play with short passes.
Brendan Rodgers, the former Swansea City boss, implemented the same idea at the Welsh club during his two-year tenure. The style received a lot of commendation from people from across the board, also winning scores of admirers for the Northern Irishman.

Even though the tiki-taka style is in sharp contrast with the conventional English playing techniques, the Spanish International insisted that it has now become the benchmark of modern day football.
He termed Barcelona as the best football club in the world, and revealed that his side have set them as a reference point.

However, the Merseyside outfit are yet to notch up their first win in EPL under the Ulsterman. They took a real beating from West Bromwich Albion in the opener to go down 3-0 at the Hawthorns, but impressed in a 2-2 draw against Manchester City at home on
Sunday.
Although the Spaniard admitted to their slow start to the campaign, he opined that Rodgers’ ideas will require time to seep into the unit, but was optimistic it will soon start to bear fruits.
“I think this is the way we have to play this year. Because there is a new manager, we need time, but if we can play like this I think we will get many points. It is like the manager wants,” he added.
