Entering 7th grade...too late to get a shot?

I am entering 7th grade. I need a shot called V V #2, whatever that is. I think it is too late it says on the letter: Your child's immunization record was incomplete at the time of registration. It is a Wiscon State Law that all students must be immunized.

You could be fined, and your student could possibly be excluded from school until the necessary information is provided by you.

Although we do not urge you have to have your child immunized, waivers (what are they???) are available for health, personal, or religious reasons. (Does this mean I can get a shot at school on the first day?)

You may take your child to your own physician, or a local Health Department.

(In bold) Please provide me with the updated information as soon as possible. Return this letter with the proper dates, (or an appointment date) before the first day of school.

If you have further questios regarding this memo, please contact me.

END OF LETTER

I got this at registration. I do not understand half of the letter, my parents don't speak english. So am I screwed? Please help me!!!

  1. contact the school and tell them ur situation they may be able to help

if it is just a shot then u should be able to get in shots take like 2 seconds call the health department and tell them u need it and if they could possibly fit u in between appointments.

a waiver is a piece of paper saying u didn;t want the shot for religious reasons personal, or heath reasons. it also says that u have to return the letter with the dates or APPOINTMENT dates before the first day of school so u can schedule an appoinment for it and still be able to go hope this makes sense good luck

  3. The vaccine they mentioned in the letter is the second varicella (chickenpox) vaccine.  It looks like you've already received one of them.

Wisconsin state law regarding school vaccine requirements:

"The immunization requirement is waived if the student, if

an adult, or the student’s parent, guardian or legal custodian submits a written statement to the school, day care center or nursery school objecting to the immunization for reasons of health, religion or personal conviction."

In other words, if you type up a letter to your school, from your father or mother, and signed by him or her, stating that the practice of immunization is against his or her personal beliefs, you won't need to get the shot, or any others that will be added to the required schedule in the future.

    Here's a sample letter:

    Dear (school):

The practice of immunization is against my personal beliefs.  Therefore, please excuse my child from any immunization requirements.

    Sincerely,

    (your mom or dad)

You should research vaccines and the dangers of them.  Here are some good places to start.

If, after your research, you decide that getting the 2nd varicella vaccine is the best thing for your health, just return the letter they sent you with the scheduled appointment date.  It does not need to be before school starts.

By the way, I'm not advocating going behind your parents' backs.  But from what you've said, it seems to me that they don't care either way.  So tell them what the letter says, and ask them to sign it.  By the way, if they are religious, they would be interested to know that the chickenpox vaccine contains cells from an aborted baby.

  4. Your parents should be learing how to speak english if they are living in America. You are not allowed to go to school until you have had that shot. Your parents need to make a appt. for you to get that shot.
