Entering Canada w/ DUI. Simple Y or N response please. When you entered, did you get randomly checked or not

Please just let me know if you were stopped and had to wait for the canadian border control to run a background check on you, or if they just looked at your id (passport) and let you in. Thanks

Simple: Yes

Both going into USA and coming back to Canada via the Derby Line, New Hampshire border crossing, they took my passport and scanned it under some sort of reader.

I don't know if it was facial recognition software, a barcode reader, or an OCR, but I am sure that if it detected any reason I (or my travelling companions in the car) should not be allowed in, it would have set off some sort of flags for them to do an extra security check.

Now I am a Canadian going into USA and coming back, so I am opposite what you are doing, but my guess is same scenario would apply.
