Question:

Entering a partial number of shares in a Y!Finance portfolio??

I'm trying to track a 401K in "my portfolios". In the details, I can enter fractional shares (ex: 123.437 shares of ABCDX), but when the portfolio is displayed in Yahoo, it rounds down to the nearest share. This is new in the past 6 months or so, it used to retain the decimal (fractional share) in portfolio value calculations. Not anymore, and it is bothering me.

  1. You are following mutual funds...so you can get partial shares..they are rounded off in your portfolio( who knows why?) BUT you can see your correct amount if you click on the "transactions" bar. Your totals( money-wise) DO reflect the partial shares....so maybe you just have to get used to the "rounded" display... or E-mail Yahoo and complain ... maybe some department keeps a tally?

Problem is not "solved" but I think you deserve an answer.

  2. Bought figures always have real numbers , such as 4000 shares but there are no shares like  4000.1067 its always wrong.

you cannot buy a-half share from any stock company..

    Its wrong..

give your value of paid amount in decimals , it exactly accepts..

    Bye
