  1. If you have ever been convicted of a criminal offence you are considered  inadmissable and the odds are they won`t let you enter.

  2. Where you fly in from will make no difference.

It's up to the border guard when you enter Canada if you can come in - they have the power to turn anyone with a criminal record, but usually it's only drug offences and major crimes that get people turned away.

Unless, you planning to come in long-term - then the questions get trickier - or you have an outstanding international warrant for your arrest - then you'll get stopped.

  3. It doesn't matter where you fly from as that will not change your criminal record.  According to Citizenship and Immigrations Canada any person with a criminal conviction is deemed inadmissible to Canada.

However, if 5 years has passed since the sentence was served out (not the date of arrest) a person may be deemed rehabilitated if no similar arrest or offence has occurred.

So, if 5 years has passed with no other problems you could ask for a rehabilitation but you should take care of this before you try to enter Canada.
