Once upon a time there was a fairy who thought she was human. This fairy believed hard enough and suddenly, magically, she was human! However, due to decency laws and current psychological stigma surrounding the paranormal, the fairy was arrested for indecent exposure, found incompetent to stand trial on the grounds of mental illness, and locked away for the rest of her human life for the sake of believing.

The moral of the story: don't tell people you're a fairy.
