Entire Mumbai Indians batting line-up to blame for defeats: Robin Singh – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rabindra-Ramanarayan-Singh-c83216, has placed the blame for the team’s defeats in the current 5th season of the Indian Premier League on the entire batting order, saying that the openers are not the sole culprits.
“It's not just about the openers. We have 20 overs to bat and we have a deep batting line up. Openers will play shots, that's the format of the game. We will try to maximise in the first six overs,” Singh pointed out prior to the team’s upcoming clash with
the Kings XI Punjab, scheduled for April 22 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The Indians’ opening woes have plagued them since the very first match of the season. Following http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 Tendulkar’s finger injury, sustained during the season opener against the Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai on April

T Suman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Davy-Jacobs-c1343 have all been ineffective as openers, but Singh is convinced that in addition to the openers, the entire batting order needs to increase its effectiveness in order to improve the team’s rankings (the MI are currently
at number 6 on the league points table).
“It will appear a high-risk game to most players. It depends on how we execute and not just about one guy,” Singh insisted.
Regardless, with Tendulkar having been deemed fit to play, and included in the playing XI for the game against the Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 today, the team is sure to find their batting order significantly reinforced.
Singh also went on to comment on the flaws in the Indians’ performances this season, claiming that the batting performances had not been up to par.
“We have not batted as well as we can. We certainly have to step up when it comes to batting. Everyone is very much aware of that. We just couldn't play good cricket, couldn't chase 129. We got out for 92,” he said.
