Im applying to ninth grade at a new competitive private school.

I have to answer a few questions in a short essay.

Im having trouble starting off/answering this question..

What do you think you could contribute to our school?

What is a really strong way to start off?

What do you think I could include to impress the admissions staff?

i would start it of like this: i strongly belive in giving students who need help with a subject thier failing. include this at end: you can count on me to be a sensible learner at your school

think about & make a list of

what you are good at (studies / sports / other activities / socialising / ....) ;

narrow it down to some specifics (particular subject / game / dance / ....) ;

then think of how you can use this strength to contribute to the school - eg. be a high achiever / A grader / play for the school team / start a society or club / volunteer to assist 'weaker' students / help around the school during some free time ......

Think about things in your personality that you know you're good at.  Are you an outgoing, really involved student?  Let them know that!  Are you a born leader?

Here's one example of a good way to start one, although I don't know if it will help because I don't know if it will even apply to you:

There are so many ways I see myself contributing to this school.  I'm the type of person who loves to be involved in all activities, whether it be running for student government or starring in the next play.  I feel as though the school could benefit from me and my enthusiasm to be so actively involved.  In return, I know this school has so much to offer me in regards to growing and maturing as a person.  So while I see myself contributing in countless ways through being involved in different areas within the school, I also see this school offering me so much more knowledge and life experience through my endeavors.
