  1. i bought a return ticket uk- thailand but wanted to stay 1month longer once i was there so i called the company about 2 weeks before i was due to return to see if i could change it and found i could do for £100 ($186) so i did it that way.I had a tourist visa before i went save me doing the border run too.

  2. atleast i needed one.

  3. I live in Thailand, Reciently I had to return to Australia to get a new visa .

So.. As I had bought my ticket in thailand , I did not have a return ticket.. there were no questions asked. Once befor I was asked to see my visa, but I think any excuse will be OK,

    No worry's Mate

  4. Yes, you must have a return or onward ticket. But rules in Thailand are often unenforced and this particular rule is seldom enforced. If asked say you are going overland to Lao or Cambodia or Malaysia. If questioned further, say you are going on to Singapore or HK and you'll have a ticket from there.

After a dozen+ trips to BKK I have been asked once in a off hand way about this and my answer was accepted without a glance.

Overland into the Kingdom, no one is asked for onward tickets.

One cavaet; if you have multiple entry and exit stamps to/from Thailand and/or you look scruffy, dreadlocked, or otherwise undesirable, you may be hassled a little.
